well, there was - he's currently in the kitchen with the sacrificed beetroot leaf he was lounging about on, while i contemplate his fate. so...what does an animal-loving vegetarian do with an interloper like this?
it was kind of solved for me as he'd disappeared by the time i got up there again...someone had decided to put him out near the herb garden and the tomato plants i'd put in there today. can see this going well!
let the battle begin! Thank goodness it is autumn here and the snails are thinking about hibernating for the winter... although a few still seem to like my greenhouse...
I had a similar problem years ago, but not with one single creature but a whole snail community! I used to go out at night with a torch and pick off slugs and snails, put them into a container and carry them to the far side of my yard and release them. By the next night they'd be back and so on and so on!! If you find them persisting I could suggest doing this night gathering and shifting but maybe take them a whole block away or something?!

Throw him over the neighbour's fence. Or feed him to the rooster up the street.

the idea of a whole community of snails is not one i even want to entertain! so far no sign of any more invaders...touch wood.
